Background: Teers joined the Gungan High Council before the Invasion of Naboo. When Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn and his Padawan, Obi-Wan Kenobi appealed to the Council to warn the Naboo about the Trade Federation’s impending invasion, Teers was present. However, despite their plea, the Council was not interested in doing so due to their strained relationship with the Naboo. The Council believed that the Naboo thought themselves intellectually superior to the Gungans. As a result, the Trade Federation expelled the Gungans from their home in Otoh Gunga, forcing them to flee to their sacred place. It was only after Queen Amidala of Naboo approached the Gungans and requested their aid in defeating their common enemy that the Gungans agreed to help. Eventually, the Gungans realized that the Naboo did not think themselves superior, and they all found peace with one another after Naboo was liberated.
