Scientists: Demophon Supernova Imminent

BYRNE CITY, DEMOPHON – Scientists at the University of Sanbra announced findings that indicate the red giant Demophon is likely to go supernova within the next century. “Chromospheric instabilities as well as spectrographic readings of iron and carbon ejecta clearly indicate that Demophon is nearing the end of its lifecycle,” said Cosmology Professor Deakis Ronse. “That star has probably 50 to 75 years left to it.”
The star is orbited by five planets, including the heavily industrialized world of Demophon. The planet has an estimated population of 35 million, and its planetary government is a coalition of large corporate executive boards. The Demophon Council has not made any statement regarding the findings. A Demophonic factory worker, Rudig Stinwise, expressed an apathy common in Demophon: “They say it won’t happen for another fifty years. I’ve got a lot of other things to worry about before that.”
