Background: KRONOS-327 was an IG-86 sentinel droid who by the time of the Clone Wars was in the service of the crime lord Ziro the Hutt as an assassin, serving well enough over many years to be considered by his master as one of his most trusted assassins.
However, despite his many past successes, KRONOS-327 eventually failed an assignment, and was forced to return to Ziro to report his failure in completing his mission. The Hutt crime lord took amusement in seeing that one of his most trusted assassins had finally failed, and gave the command for KRONOS to be taken away and dismantled. KRONOS-327 pleaded to be spared, but Ziro payed no attention as the droid was dragged away by two other IG-86 sentinel droids.
