Background: Salon pods were the forward lower sections of Consular-class cruisers. It contained amenities for diplomats and passengers during long space voyages, and in emergencies could be detached from the Consular-class cruisers to serve as an escape pod.
Salon pods were heavily armored and sealed against all forms of probing or bugging, and so were often used as an ideal location for direct negotiatons and diplomacy.
