Background: The Q7-series astromech droid was a model of spherical astromech droid that featured a dome resembling that of R2 and R4-P astromechs. It was used to co-pilot the Alpha-3 Nimbus-class V-wing starfighter and assisted with in-flight maintenance and navigation, giving pilots a larger margin of error when flying close to obstacles. Q7s were carried aboard V-wings flown by the Galactic Republic Navy during the Clone Wars.
