Background: The HH-87 Starhopper, also known as the Hutt fighter due to its service in the Hutt Clan, was a versatile, long range single-person starfighter that had a long service history, being used by the Hutt Clans from at least the High Republic Era through the Clone Wars. These starhoppers were also in service with the Zygerrian Slave Empire, which deployed them for dogfighting at the Battle of Kadavo.
In 4 ABY, Wedge Antilles used an HH-87 formerly belonging to Gev Hessan to scout several Outer Rim worlds for signs of hidden Imperial redoubts. When his starhopper was captured by the ISD Vigilance over Akiva, Antilles rigged it to explode, hoping the chaos would allow him to escape.
