Background: Tivik was an informant for the Alliance to Restore the Republic and worked as one of Captain Cassian Jeron Andor’s contacts to Saw Gerrera’s insurgents on Jedha. Tivik was a nervous informant but proved useful as an intelligence contact. His sister was also based on Jedha. At some point, he injured his right arm, which required him to use a scarf as a sling.

Tivik informed Cassian Andor about Bodhi Rook’s defection from the Empire and the existence of the Death Star, a planet killer. He sent an oblique message to Andor, recalling him from Corulag for a rendezvous at the Ring of Kafrene. Later, he joined a team heading to the Ring to steal ammunition.

While preparing to leave with his team, Tivik met with Cassian Andor in the alleyways of section nine. Cassian kept him talking until he revealed what he knew from Jedha. Two stormtroopers accosted them, and Cassian shot them dead. However, the brief firefight alerted more Imperial forces. Tivik fretted over his injured arm, which prevented him from climbing onto the rooftops as Cassian intended. Cassian realized the Empire would capture and interrogate Tivik for information, so he killed Tivik with a blaster bolt. Tivik fell to the ground, and Cassian returned to Yavin 4.
