Background: The TIE Dart was an evolved version of the TIE Interceptor, but it added several new innovations while keeping all the pros of the old design.

The TIE Dart was smaller, faster, and more maneuverable than the Interceptor, yet it still had four laser cannons. It had a Class 3 hyperdrive, shield generators, and it used the standard chin mounts of the TIE Fighter.

This ship was commissioned to be a long-range patrol fighter, a role which it filled nicely.
