Background: Ringo Vinda was a planet located in the galaxy’s Mid Rim, along the Perlemian Trade Route. It was encircled by a massive civilian graving dock. The Ringo Vindans, a human cultural group, spoke Galactic Basic Standard with a distinctive accent. In the waning decades of the Galactic Republic, Jedi Knight Rael Averross hailed from Ringo Vinda.

During the Clone Wars, Ringo Vinda was captured by the Confederacy of Independent Systems, which resulted in an extended campaign to retake the planet in the year 19 BBY. However, Republic forces withdrew from Ringo Vinda when 501st Legion clone trooper CT-5385 “Tup” executed Jedi Master Tiplar when Protocol 66 was accidentally triggered in his inhibitor chip, leaving the world under Separatist control. Officially, Tup’s mental instability was said to be caused by a parasitic infection native to Ringo Vinda that caused his inhibitor to decay, and a vaccine was prepared to inoculate the other clones and prevent similar incidents in the future, hiding the true nature of Order 66. The same excuse was used to discredit the ARC trooper CT-5555 “Fives,” who had been killed attempting to reveal the truth about the chips to the Jedi.

After the war, Ringo Vinda fell under the control of the Galactic Empire, and its space station was converted into an enormous construction facility that churned out Imperial-class Star Destroyers for the Imperial Navy.
