Background: Joy was one of the five Force Priestesses who had managed to preserve their consciousness in the Force after death and lived inside the Wellspring of Life. She appeared as a being donning a black robe and a cheerful mask and acted according to the emotional aspect she embodied. When Jedi Grand Master Yoda arrived on the planet to seek immortality, Joy and the other priestesses subjected him to a series of tests to prove the worthiness of the “great gift.” Yoda successfully passed all the tests and eventually journeyed to the Sith homeworld Moraband, where he faced Sith Lords Darth Sidious and Count Dooku for his final test. Unfortunately, Joy and the other priestess had no control over this final test. Yoda emerged victorious, and Joy informed him that the spirit of his old friend Qui-Gon Jinn would communicate with him to teach him the ways of manifesting in the Force after death.
