Background: Eiram was a terrestrial planet in the Eiram system, alongside its twin planet E’ronoh. It had a vast array of oceans and a society based on its vast seas.

Eiram had a rivalry with its twin planet E’ronoh. The two worlds sought to compete over control of the system due to its nature as a hyperspace waypoint and even waged many wars with each other. In 382 BBY, the planet Eiram was ruled by Queen Adrialla and Queen-Consort Odelia. When the latest incarnation of the war reached its fifth year, elongated by the accidental death of Prince Niko A’lbaran over Eiram’s oceans, E’ronoh and Eiram continued their conflict with dwindling supplies. Queen Adrialla made a deal with The Mother of the Path of the Open Hand. In exchange for supplies, Eiram would trade poison made from a Scorpion native to Eiram. Princess Xiri A’lbaran of E’ronoh and Prince Phan-tu Zenn of Eiram entered a marriage alliance to end the war and fell in love. The poison was said to have been destroyed to the Galactic Republic and the Jedi Order. However, A’lbaran and a reluctant Zenn decided to keep a batch of poison as a last resort against future enemies. After the capture of Path agent Axel Greylark, they decided to destroy the poison after all.

The conflict turned into a cold war. Later, Eiram was ruled by the queen regnant Dima and the queen consort Thandeka. Thandeka was kidnapped by the Directorate and Monarch Cassel of E’ronoh, leading to the Eiram–E’ronoh crisis. As the Jedi’s mission continued, Eiram and E’ronoh offered a ransom to the Directorate and started to investigate the kidnappings on their own. After the crisis ended, Eiram and E’ronoh’s relationship rapidly improved, and they warmed to the Republic, allowing the Starlight Beacon to be built in their territory.

Circa 230 BBY, a cyclone formed on the planet, engulfing almost an entire hemisphere of the planet. The storm’s effects damaged the desalination plants that provided the only fresh water for the population. In response, the Republic had Starlight Beacon towed into orbit to provide supplies and repairs. Shortly before the completion of the repairs, the planet threw a celebration. Starlight was later destroyed while it was still hanging above Eiram.
