Background: The CR70 corvette was a predecessor of the CR90 corvette, produced by the Corellian Engineering Corporation.

The CR70 model Corvette was heavily used by the Galactic Republic as diplomatic vessels. The CR70 Model was a much older design and was not as heavily armed as the CR90 model. The Rebel Alliance had several CR70’s in usage. By the time of the Galactic Civil War most CR70 models received the Vanguard c20 retrofit suite which was offered to older model corvettes like the CR70 in order to bring them in line with the CR90 model.
