Background: Biker Advanced Recon Commandos, known simply as BARC troopers or BARC pilots, were specialized Advanced Recon Commando clone pilots trained to operate the BARC speeder, which was named after them. Distinguished by their unique helmets, the Grand Army of the Republic’s BARC troopers participated in the Clone Wars between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems. It later served under the Galactic Empire as clone stormtroopers.
BARC troopers wore a modified variant of standard clone trooper armor, with a helmet that directed attention forward to avoid distractions that could be dangerous at high speeds. Clone troopers on BARC speeders in armor similar to, but not the same as, that of Phase II era BARC troopers were active within a battle on Saleucami between 21 BBY and 20 BBY.
