Ahsoka and Skeleton Crew
Welcome Star Wars fans!
Those that have been with us the last few years know we are constantly busy producing content both for established and new Star Wars content. That isn’t changing as we have big plans for the Ahsoka and Skeleton Crew series with their own dedicated Source Guides. But did you know we have a few other projects going on in the background? We have been busy creating source guides for the films, with the first two being The Phantom Menace and Rogue One. Obviously we have a lot of content already created for those films based on our source guides for The Clone Wars and Andor. Even so there are hundreds more characters and equipment to build and that is time consuming. We produce this content for you and hopefully those interested in Star Wars The Roleplaying Game are able to use the content in their stories. We will continue to add to these source guides for months and years to come. Now lets take a look at where we are at with our current series of guides.
We begin development on TCW source guide in December 2021 and we have finished the individual content for the series in May 2023. The weekly release of the episodes guides on Friday continue and we have about six months of releases to go. Once complete we will be looking at creating a PDF version, so if that is something you are interested in working on please message us @SWRPGGM on Twitter or over on the Star Wars D6 Discord. We have the content but we will need a team to put that together in PDF form.
We have begin to get some details on the Ahsoka series including character news and locations. The current character list is Ahsoka Tano, Sabine Wren, Captain Enoch, Anakin Skywalker and or Darth Vader, Baylan Skoll, Hera Syndulla, Huyang, Rex, Morgan Elsbeth, Thrawn, Shin Hati, and Ezra Bridger. I large chunk of the cast we have earlier stats for, many from Star Wars Rebels. In many ways this might appear as Rebels Season 5 which has Star Wars fans really excited. I myself am very excited about the series and I think it will be legendary. So many animated characters getting their first live action appearances and further exploring their stories. We do know parts of the story, the search for Ezra, the return of Thrawn, but I think we might see Old Man Rex and I feel we will see his last days. We have theorized that Ahsoka will transition from the Shadow Sentinel role to something else, to a higher level of the Force, what we are calling Ahsoka The White. There is the sense that this series will open a new door of Star Wars legend and I think it will be a fun ride. The source guide will be a lot of fun to put together for each episode. Our whole team hope you will be with us for the ride. Ahsoka begins August 23, 2023 and will have eight episodes.
Skeleton Crew follows a group of kids who are about ten years old who get lost in the Star Wars universe. It’s been described as a mix of The Goonies and Stranger Things in how the kids are the primary focus of the series. I think this series is going to led us to something special but I have no idea what that will be. Like all the new series we will put together a Source Guide but I don’t expect any information until this fall.
The Acolyte
We are at the beginning stages of information on The Acolyte series. We will have a source guide release for it as well. With there being a lot of content from The High Republic you might see bits and pieces from that also appear. If something is inclined to dig into The High Republic we do have a project on hold for The High Republic Source Guide but it really needs someone following the series to produced. We have the project started but between the many books and comics it’s just a bit much for us to keep up with and product the live action and animated series at this point.
Episode One The Phantom Menace
Starting back in May 2023 we begin to release content for Episode One on Monday’s. We will continue to do that until The Phantom Menace Source Guide is complete. The Source Guide will release January 9, 2024. We will transition to Episode II Attack of the Clones on Monday’s and a projected release November 2024. Episode III Revenge of the Sith should take about a year to complete and will release November 2025.
Rogue One
Another project for 2023-2024 is the Rogue One Source Guide. We have been releasing Rogue One content on Tuesdays and we will release the Rogue One Source Guide May 4, 2024 as a present to Star Wars Fans.
SOLO
A bit further out for in early 2025 we will be releasing the SOLO Source Guide. Like Rogue One we already have pieces of the guide completed but gathering everything together will take some time. SOLO content will be released on Tuesdays following the completion of the Rogue One Source Guide.
The Mandalorian and The Bad Batch
This year we published a lot of new content for The Mandalorian and The Bad Batch and we hope you all got to enjoy both series. We have one last season of The Bad Batch to go and we last saw Clone Force 99 in a tragic moment. Over on The Mandalorian we saw the reunification of the tribes of Mandalore, the destruction of The Dark Saber, and Bo Katan lead the rebuilding process for her people. Din Djarin and Grogu are now back on their own, awaiting their next adventure. For roleplayers we are very spoiled right now with so much new content to bring into our stories. Game Masters across the planet are rolling their dice with hundreds of thousands learning the classic D6 game every day. For those needing story ideas and playable content, The Mandalorian is a excellent place to start.
Conclusion
We have a lot to look forward to so we hope you are along for the ride. We have a the Structure of the Rebel Alliance planned with all the different Rebel solders and pilots (see our Stormtrooper Classes post or our Structure of the Empire series for examples) and way down the line we will do a Structure of the Republic series as well.
