“Big Pooba”

The crashlanding
Jedi younglings Nubs and Lys Solay ride their speeder bikes into the middle of a forest clearing on Tenoo. When Solay asks about the purpose of their trip, Nubs explains that he has been searching for a waalax tree, which has been spotted growing around the area. Consulting the datapad, Solay reads that they have huge leaves, thick layers of wax, and that their leaves can be used as sleds. Nubs spots a waalax leaf. Nubs attempts to get it, but Solay volunteers to get it. She forces herself to jump up the tree and retrieve the leaf.

Nubs is unhappy and tells Solay that he wishes he was a grownup. Solay reassures him that he is great the way he is because he is kind and knows a lot about nature. The two witnessed a starship crash-landing and rushed to the site to help. They find a droid named NP-87 inspecting the crashed ship at the crash site. The droid explains that they ran out of fuel but declines the younglings’ offer of help. When Solay asks who else is here, she spots an adult Pooba. Nubs and the adult Pooba are delighted to see each other.

Nubs help adult Pooba carry large cylindrical objects before introducing them to each other in Poobian. The adult Pooba introduces himself as Zeephoz. Solay introduces herself while Zeephoz pats Nubs on the head. NP-87 tells the Jedi younglings that their ship got busted and that they must find a way to transport a cargo pod to Kublop Springs by night-time. Nubs and Solay offer to help, saying that Nubs knows the forest the best. Seeing that the cargo pod has a repulsors, she proposes hitching it to one of their speeders. NP-87 agrees to the plan and tasks Zeephoz with helping the younglings.

Transporting the cargo pod
Nubs tows the cargo pod with Zeephoz and NP-87 riding on top. Solay rides her speeder bike from behind. NP-87 praises the younger Pooba. Just then, a pair of ganguls ram into the cargo pod. Solay realizes that they must have intruded into their territory. Nubs confronted the quadruped creatures with his lightsaber. He attempts growling at them, but they are not intimidated. Zeephoz grabs a trunk and drives the creatures back to the forest. Nubs and Zeephoz chat in Poobian.

When NP-87 expresses concern about encountering more creatures, Solay convinces Nubs to take another route, which involves riding through a canyon. Nubs and Solay ride their speeder bikes at the front, towing the cargo pod. Nubs tells Solay he imagines being grown up and praises them for finding another way to Kublop Springs. Just then, NP-87 spots a large boulder ahead, blocking their path. They bring their speeders to a stop. NP-87 grumbles about the obstacle but Zeephoz volunteers to remove it. NP-87 thinks that it will be too much for Zeephoz to handle.

At Solay’s suggestion, Nubs joins forces with Zeephoz to try to remove the rock. However, the rock is too heavy even for Nubs, and they accidentally dislodge debris from the canyon. Zeephoz shelters Nubs from falling debris while Solay uses the Force to shield herself, NP-87,and the cargo pod. Though the group and their cargo survived unhurt, they find their path blocked on both sides. NP-87 blames Nub,s but Zeephoz and Solay cheer him up and reassure him they will find a way out.

Up and down
Unable to move forward or backward, Solay and Nubs devise a plan that involves going upwards. Using the roots of a giant Tenoo tree, they form an improvised crane and use ropes to pull themselves and the cargo pod to safety. They also manage to lift their speeder bikes and NP-87 to safety. Continuing the journey on the highlands, Solay spots starships approaching Kublop Springs. NP-87 thinks that they can make the trip.

A thirsty Zeephoz goes to the river to drink. While resting the cargo pod on a piece of rock, Nubs accidentally dislodges it, causing it to slide downhill. Inspecting the damage, they find that the repulsors are damaged. NP-87 grumbles about missing their delivery. Nubs speaks with Zeephoz before storming off into the forest. Solay comforts Nubs, telling him she can understand that he wants to be a grownup like Zeephoz. She reminds him of Jedi Master Yoda’s teaching that “size matters not” but that what matters is what’s inside you. Being conciliatory, Zeephoz comforts the younger Pooba.

Solay comes up with a plan to use waalax leaves like a sled to pull the cargo pod. Agreeing with the plan, Zeephoz lifts Nubs onto a waalax tree, allowing him to retrieve several waalax leaves. They place the leaves at the bottom of the cargo pod and use Nubs’ speeder bike to pull it.

Mission accomplished
At the Kublop Springs marketplace, an alien merchant thinks Zeephoz and NP-87 will not make it and prepares to leave on his freighter. Just then, the group arrives with the cargo pod on Waalax leaves. The alien merchant is impressed with the amount of hard work the crew did to deliver the cargo and says he will hire them for future jobs. NP-87 and Zeephoz celebrate while Solay reassures Nubs that they completed the mission because of his big heart and ingenuity.

Nubs agrees. She tells Nubs that one day he will be an adult but to make the best of his childhood. NP-87 apologizes for doubting the children. Solay is forgiving and says that they are glad they could help. Speaking in Poobian, Zeephoz tells Nubs he is a fantastic kid and will make a fantastic grown-up today. NP-87 translates and tells Nubs not to grow up too fast. Zeephoz lifts Nubs up as the camera fades out.

“Best Bounty Buddies”

The escaped critter
Jedi younglings Kai Brightstar, Lys Solay, and Nubs are walking through Kublop Springs’s waterfront when a rat-like creature escapes and scurries their way. The three children corner and trap the creature under a stall, with Solay calming it down and telling it they don’t mean harm. Shortly after, they are joined by the bounty hunter Ansen Strung, who tells them he is looking for a Faloen hopper. Speaking in Poobian, Nubs points the way to the stall. Strung tells the younglings to lift the stall at his signal so that he can funnel the creature into a carriage cage.

Strung uses a smoke bomb to force the Faloen hopper out of the stall while the Jedi younglings use the Force to levitate the box. They then guide the critter into its carrier cage. Via comlink, Strung tells Weebo that he has found his lost pet rodent and will return it to the farm. The Jedi younglings think that the Faloen hopper is cute.

An unexpected reunion
The group are joined by Rhugo Tar, one of Strung’s former bounty hunting associates. Strung introduces Tar to the younglings, who reciprocate. Tar tells Strung and the younglings that he has been searching for a starship thief named Sty Trune, who had escaped Tar following a fight. Tar has brought his ship to Kublop Springs for repairs but thinks it will take a while. Tar asks Strung if he could borrow his starship and says he has placed a tracker on Trune’s ship. Tar invites Strung to help him catch the fugitive, suggesting it is preferable to tracking creatures. Strung and the younglings defend Strung’s tracking skills.

Strung takes up Tar’s challenge and agrees to help Tar capture Sty to prove that he has not gone soft. The Jedi younglings volunteer to help. After returning the Faloen hopper to Weebo and his grandson, the group departs on Ansen Strung’s starship for the forested world of Aludia. Strung parks his wedge-shaped starship near a crashed starship. Solay and Strung look forward to meeting the wildlife, but Tar reminds Strung of their mission. Tar explains that Trune had crashed his starship before fleeing into the while.

Strung sniffs around and decides to search for footprints. Disagreeing with Strung’s methods, Tar activates his repulsor boots and decides to search from the sky. Strung and the Jedi younglings continue searching for footprints. After sneezing due to pollen, Nubs finds a trail of footprints. Tar mocks their methods, prompting an argument between him and Strung, with Strung likening Tar to a lost tooka. Brightstar and Solay calm the situation and remind them of their mission.

Capturing the starship thief
Continuing their search, they find Sty Trune trapped in a rope trap on a vine. Strung is unwilling to spook Trune, but Tar confronts him head-on. Tar confronts Trune, who mocks the time it took to find him. When Tar remarks that he is in a “bind,” Trune explains that he climbed a tree to get a better view of the land and encountered a little accident. Tar prepares to apply magnetic binders on Trune. However, he is distracted by Strung, allowing Trune to break free with his knife and run. The Jedi younglings and surrendering soldiers surround him.

Taking this as a victory, Strung says the successful capture of Trune proves that his “animal tracking” method works. This sparks an argument with Tar, who disparages Strung’s methods work. Trune claims there is an Aludian trumble pig nearby, which distracts Strung and the younglings long enough for him to flee. Tar is furious and regrets bringing Strung and the younglings. Brightstar tells them to stop arguing and focus on capturing the thief.

Trune runs towards Strung’s starship. Working together, Nubs gives Brightstar a lift, allowing him to do a Force jump and leap over Trune. Brightstar and his friends attempt to block him, but Strung and Tar argue about methods. Following a tussle, Strung accidentally fires his energy net gun while Tar fires his rope gun. However, this traps the Jedi younglings, allowing Trune to flee Strung’s starship aboard. While the bounty hunters argue, Trune struggles with the custom controls but accidentally activates the disco player. Brightstar, Solay and Nubs tell the bounty hunters they must work together.

The two bounty hunters decide to put aside their differences. After freeing the children, they don their repulsor boots as Strung’s ship rises. Strung tells Tar to use his grappling cable to pull out an essential panel, which prevents the ship from taking off. With Tar’s approval, Strung uses a smoke bomb to disorientate Trune while the Jedi younglings block his exit at the ramp. The three younglings work with the bounty hunters to corner the starship thief. Out of respect for Strung, Tar allows him to arrest Trune.

A renewed partnership
Later, Tar brings Trune’s stolen ship to a repair and prepares to depart with the fugitive in tow. He thanks Strung and praises his creature-tracking skills. He invites Strung to help him hunt other thieves. In return, Strung invites Tar to help with future hunting expeditions. Tar waves goodbye to Strung and the younglings, who watch as his ship departs Kublop Springs.
