Story
“The Helpful Harvester”
The fallen tree
A furry mammalian pucksy emerges from the ground while the Jedi younglings Kai Brightstar, Nubs and Lys Solay use their Force powers to life a wooden frame for a barn. A Twi’lek man named Locc thanks the younglings for their help. Brightstar notices that the village has grown since the last time they visited. Solay says that the barns being built will make a good home for the dunnels. Locc invites the Jedi younglings to join the villagers for a feast later in the night. Nubs expresses delight in Poobian.
Locc’s son Jor reminds his father that they have to go and find the lumo cave mushrooms for the mushroom stew tonight. Locc thanks Jor for the reminder. When Locc invites the younglings to help harvest mushrooms, Brightstar sends Nubs to help the Twi’leks while he and Solay stay behind to build the barn. As the group approach a cave, Nubs notices a large Tenoo tree swaying in the wind. Nubs is worried but Jor reassures him that the tree will be there forever.
Inside the cave, they find the lumo cave mushrooms hanging on the floor and top of the structure. Before they can harvest the mushrooms, the Tenoo tree nearby collapses, blocking the entrance to the cave. Locc realizes that their entrance has been blocked by the Tenoo tree. When Jor asks if they are stuck here, Nubs uses his holoprojector to contact Brightstar and Nubs for help. The two enlist the help of the other villagers.
A female villager uses a saw mounted on a repulsorlift skiff to try and cut through the giant Tenoo tree but the saw short-circuits. Solay adds that the other villagers lack the right tools to cut through the tree. When Nubs suggest calling Jedi Master Zia Zaldor Zanna and Wes Vinik for help, Brightstar reveals that the two Jedi have already left for Coruscant. Brightstar decides to contact Raxlo for help and the two younglings travel to frigid Andraven.
A reluctant friend
However, Raxlo is preoccupied with making money from harvesting tenga rocks on Andraven. Solay tells him that there are more things important than making money while Brightstar asks him to put himself in the shoes of people stuck inside a cave. Raxlo agrees but is unwilling to risk damaging his harvester, which he regards as his pride and joy. After a baby wellagrin stares at him, Raxlo reluctantly agrees to help the younglings rescue Nubs, Locc and Jor on Tenoo.
The villagers clear a path as Raxlo’s harvester approaches the the tree trunk. The harvester begins drilling its drill head into the Tenoo tree. Brightstar is optimistic but the drill overheats and begins powering down. When Brightstar and Solay asks why he stopped, Raxlo says he is afraid that drilling further will damage his harvester’s drill, which would get in the way of his business operations. Raxlo says not being able to make money is his worst fear. Solay responds that her friends are more important than the harvester and that they need to keep trying.
Raxlo responds that the harvester can’t drill through the thick tree trunk and asks them to find another way to help their friends. Raxlo then walks away, leaving Brightstar and Solay behind chatting. Raxlo is startled by a pucksy digging itself out of a hole. Solay briefs Raxlo about the burrowing creature and explains that they love to dig and are very curious. Brightstar then proposes that Raxlo use his harvester to dig into the ground and go beneath the Tenoo tree so that they can rescue their friends. Raxlo agrees to this plan.
Digging underground
Solay and Nubs sit in the harvester’s cockpit with Raxlo. Raxlo uses the harvester’s drill to dig into the ground and the harvester burrows through the ground. Via holoprojector, Brightstar informs Nubs that they have found another way inside the cave. He tells Nubs and the others to hid as the harvester digs its way into the cave. The younglings are delighted to be reunited. Raxlo notices the lumo cave mushrooms lining the cave and says that they are worth a fortune. Brightstar and Solay react with dismay on their faces.
Raxlo rushes down the ramp, ignoring Nubs and the Twi’leks. He takes an interest in a mushroom stalk growing from a long crack in the cave wall. However, his action causes the rock to split, triggering another rockfall. The group rush to the edge of the cave away from the harvester. After the rockfall subsides, the group discover that Raxlo’s harvester has been covered by rocks. Raxlo reacts with dismay and blames the others for the situation, saying it would take months to repair his machine. Nubs reacts with dismay while Brightstar says they should find a way out.
Building a raft
Raxlo grumbles that this will be the last time he will allow the Jedi children to convince him to do anything. Raxlo complains that his needs are being ignored. While leaning on some boulders, he dislodges the lose rocks and discovers an underground river. The cave and rocks around the river are covered with mushrooms. Raxlo also sees a ray of sunlight leading out of the cave. Raxlo breaks the news to the others and suggests building a raft to escape the cave.
When Jor says that they don’t have a raft, Raxlo suggests building one using pieces from his harvester. Brightstar asks if Raxlo is doing it for them. When Raxlo says that he is doing it for everyone, Nubs reacts with joy. The Jedi younglings build an improvised raft using parts from Raxlo’s harvester. They also use their Force powers to levitate Raxlo’s chair and attach it to the raft. Locc and his son also help with the assembly. Raxlo fetches several life jackets and helmets.
Together, the group climb onto the raft and use makeshift branches and instruments to row down the river. Due to the strong current, the raft hits a rock, causing it to spin out of control. The raft then hits several rocks, flinging Nubs out of the vessel. He clings onto a stalagmite poking from the water. Raxlo ties a rope around his waste and tells the others to hold onto him while he swims towards Nubs. After retrieving Nubs, the others haul them to safety. Locc pushes them off the rock with his paddle. Raxlo allows Nubs to sit on his lap while they row their way out of the cave and down a waterfall. The waterfall takes them down a large river. The group celebrate.
Aftermath
Later, Locc speaks at a public gathering, thanking Raxlo and the Jedi younglings. Solay thanks Raxlo for his help. The Gozzo is sad because he has lost his means of income. Overhearing their conversation, Jor convinces his father Locc to help Raxlo build a new harvester. Locc tells Raxlo that the villagers can help him build a new harvester. Raxlo is jovial and the others join him in welcoming the news.
“Little Lost Droid”
Reunion with Braygh
Padawan Wes Vinik and the Jedi younglings Kai Brightstar, Lys Solay and Nubs travel to the planet Kundu Minor in a shuttle. After exiting hyperspace, Vinik reminds them of their destination. Brightstar thanks Vinik for getting them to their destination so fast. He adds that Braygh is excited about receiving his droid part. Solay is curious about what the part is for while Nubs speaks in Poobian.
The Jedi shuttle lands on the dusty, desert-covered world. They are greeted by the Besalisk Braygh. Solay introduces Vinik and the astromech droid R0-M1 to Braygh. Brightstar brings him the droid party and Braygh introduces them to his female two-legged droid B3-C4, whom the Jedi regard as cute. Nubs attempts to befriend B3-C4 but the droid walks away, prompting Braygh to warn him that the droid is skittish and scared easily.
The sandstorm and “heist”
A sandstorm blows through the settlement, forcing everyone to flee indoors. B3-C4’s photoreceptors are covered by a piece of paper. Nubs attempts to guide the droid but it flees away from the settlement. Braygh follows his droid into the storm. Brightstar, Vinik and R0-M1 follow Braygh and B3-C4 into the sandstorm while Solay and Nubs stay behind. Continuing into the desert, they find Braygh. They spot B3-C4 navigating a ridge. Before they can reach her, she is grabbed by two masked and cloaked figures. Braygh reacts with dismay but the group is unable to follow them due to the intense sandstorm. Vinik and Brightstar convince Braygh that they should take shelter on the covered side of a stony outcrop.
After the storm has passed, the group head to the ridge where B3-C4 was taken but find that the sandstorm has blown away any footprints. Braygh is distraught by the loss of his droid and breaks down crying. Vinik tries to comfort her. When Brightstar asks who would kidnap a droid, Braygh blames the Dostans, describing them as a group of thieves who live in a nearby tent. When Vinik suggests that they should not jump to conclusions about the Dostans’ guilt, Braygh responds that she is determined to reclaim her lost droid. The group continue towards the Dostan camp.
Resolving a misundestanding
From a ridge, Braygh uses a pair of macrobinoculars to spy on the Dostans’ camp. He sees their camp and confirms that the Dostans have B3-C4. Fearing that they are going to tear apart her droid for scrap, Braygh navigates down the gorge and confronts the Dostans in their camp. Believing her to be an intruder, they flash their electro-clubs. Braygh demands that they return her droid but they activate their clubs. B3-C4 panics and flees from her table.
Vinik intervenes and convinces the two parties not to fight. However, the Dostans only speak Huttese, which Vinik recognizes. Vinik explains Braygh’s predicament to the Dostans. In response, the Dostans say that they found B3-C4 alone in the desert during the sandstorm. They said that they were worried about her and took her in to protect her. Braygh realizes that B3-C4 has fled again and blames the Dostans for the situation. Vinik says that the Dostans were only trying to help.
Cave of the Dendroks
Braygh sees that B3 has left a trail leading into a cave. Braygh wants to enter the cave but the Dostans warn that it is too dangerous and block her path. Vinik explains the situation to Braygh, who is determined to rescue her droid. One of the Dostans says that they will take them into the cave but asks Braygh and the Jedi to trust them. Brightstar backs Vinik up and says that he never actually saw them steal anything. Braygh disagrees but Vinik counters that they took B3-C4 in to save her from a sandstorm.
Braygh reluctantly agrees to let the Dostans lead them inside the cave. Before entering the cave, Vinik tasks R0-M1 with watching over the Dostans’ camp. Inside the cave, the group discover that the cave is inhabited by Dendroks, large tentacled creatures who hunt prey. The lead Dostan warns them that they should be safe if they do not touch anything. Seeing B3-C4’s trail, Braygh believes that she has gone deeper into the cave.
Braygh tries to follow but the Dostans instead point to another tunnel which is not covered by tentacles. Brayh is skeptical the path will lead to B3 but Vinik convinces her to trust the Dostans. Following a journey, they discover B3-C4 on the other side of some resting tentacles. Despite the warnings of the Dostans and the Jedi, Braygh rushes towards her droid, dodging tentacles. As she hugs the droids, she dislodges a stone, which strikes one of the Dendroks’ tentacles. The tentacles begin stirring.
Braygh runs towards the group while carrying her droid. The Dostans use their tentacles to strike the advancing Dendrok tentacles. Braygh manages to pass B3 to Vinik but her foot is caught in one of the tentacles. The Dostans use their clubs to free her, prompting Braygh to thank them. The group flee through the tunnel they came but find the exit blocked by more tentacles.
One of the Dostan uses his electro-club to whack the tentacles, allowing the group to proceed. However, a tentacle grabs the Dostan and begins choking him. Braygh rushes to aid the Dostan but is unable to free him. Vinik and Brightstar use their Force powers to force the Dendrok to free the Dendrok. The group reach the exit of the cave exit. Braygh thanks the Dostans for helping her to rescue B3-C4.
New friends and water
Back at the local station, Braygh thanks the Dostans for their help in bringing B3-C4 home safely. She apologizes for wrongfully judging them. One of the Dostans expresses gratitude but says they have to leave in order to search for more water. Braygh explains that B3-C4 is a water scout. The droid then uses a drill to dig into the ground and releases a sprinkle of water. Braygh says that B3-C4 can help the Dostans find water in dry places but adds that they will need help from the Jedi to find spareparts. They are joined by Solay, Nubs and Brightstar. Brightstar says that the Jedi will be happy to help. The group celebrate their new-found alliance together.
