Story
“Just Like Wes”
Helping Wes Vinik
The episode opens with Jedi younglings Kai Brightstar, Lys Solay, and Nubs having a lightsaber training exercise with Padawan Wes Vinik, which involves spinning their training lightsabers. Brightstar attempts to spin his lightsaber but loses control, and it falls to the ground. Brightstar looks up to the older boy, admiring his lightsaber skills, flying ships, and using Force. Vinik reassures Brightstar that he does not need to mimic him and tells him to be confident. He invites the younglings for another round.
They are interrupted by Vinik’s astromech droid R0-M1, carrying a box. Vinik grumbled that he was caught between two commitments: promising to help Jedi Master Zia Zaldor Zanna this afternoon and delivering a package to Zepher’s repair shop. Unable to do both, Brightstar says he and his fellow younglings can deliver the package to Zepher. Vinik is unsure since the package contains refined coaxium, which is used as fuel for hyperspace jumps. He warns that it is very sensitive to movement.
To Vinik’s dismay, Nubs playfully lifts the coaxium package. Vinik uses the Force to cushion the package, preventing an explosion. He warns the younglings to be careful. Brightstar promises that he and his group will deliver the coaxium package safely. Vinik is nervous and asks R0-M1 if they will be all right. R0-M1 beeps back in Binary.
Outracing the pirates
As the younglings leave in their Jedi Vectors, they are watched through a pair of macrobinoculars by Gossi, who reports to Corr Taldaan. The pirate leader thinks that following Vinik paid off and tackling the younger Jedi younglings will be easy. The Comet Runners depart in their ship. While flying through Tenoo’s asteroid field, they are pursued by the Comet Runners. Taldaan and Gossi contact Solay via holoprojector and demand box of coaxium. Brightstar is defiant and vows not to let Vinik down. Spotting an exogorth jutting out of an asteroid, Brightstar decides to lead the pirates on a chase. He tells Solay and Nubs to follow him.
As they approach the asteroid, Solay and Nubs express concern about the exogorth. The trio fly their starfighters past the exorgorth, avoiding its jaws. The Comet Runners’ ship gives chase, narrowly avoiding the creature’s jaws. Brightstar is nervous because his plan did not work, and he searches for a way to lose their pursuers. He spots a tunnel through an asteroid. Brightstar decided to take a risk and led the other younglings toward the tunnel. Solay warns that the tunnel is leading to a dead end and expresses concern that they will be unable to outrun the pirates.
Brightstar is still determined to go ahead and accelerates his Jedi Vector. Solay and Nubs reluctantly follow suit and race through the tunnel. The Comet Runners narrowly avoid colliding with the asteroid and fly above it. The younglings fly their starfighters to the orange moon of Dedoon.
The coaxium heist
On Dedoon, the Jedi younglings are greeted by Zepher, who was expecting Vinik but is delighted to see them. He explained that he needed the coaxium tube for a new starship he was fixing for a client. Before Zepher can install the coaxium tube, they are interrupted by the Comet Runners. Taldaan claims the coaxium. When Brightstar expresses surprise, Gossi responds that a couple of asteroids will not deter them. Taldaan flashes his vibroblade and demands the coaxium.
The younglings ignite their lightsabers, but Gossi activates two Vibrodaggers, and Slegg reveals an energy crossbow. The three pirates take on the Jedi with their weapons while Zepher flees behind a box with the coaxium. While Solay tangles with Gossi and Slegg, Nubs confronts the pirates’ droid LE-47, who hurls a box at him. Taldaan knocks Brightstar into a pile of boxes, exposing Zepher. LE-47 gains the upper hand of Nubs and hurls the Pooba against several yellow canisters. LE-47 then uses a tug of war with Zepher, snatching the coaxium. However, Solay and Nubs use the Force to levitate the coaxium towards them.
Slegg’s bolt hits the coaxium box, knocking it out of Solay’s hands. The coaxium box lands on the ship and bounces near Brightstar and Taldaan. Everyone is relieved that the box doesn’t explode. Brightstar kicks the coaxium box away and attempts to engage in a spinning move. However, Taldaan takes advantage of the delay to strike Brightstar on the head. Seizing the coaxium box, the Comet Runners retreat behind a pair of blast doors. Before leaving, Taldaan shoots at the controls, leaving the Jedi behind.
Recovering the coaxium
Brightstar blames himself for the situation. Solay advises Brightstar that he doesn’t have to mimic Vinik and that he can choose to be himself. Nubs agrees in Poobian. Brightstar agrees and comes up with an idea that involves his two youngling friends. Using the Force, the two arrange the crates into a stack and climb onto the surface. As the rear ramp closes, the trio leaps into the Comet Runner’s ship. However, they find themselves trapped in the cargo compartment by the Comet Runners. Taldaan says he admires their persistence and demands they leave.
Brightstar expresses defiance and uses the Force to levitate the coaxium box toward him. Gossi attacks with her vibrodaggers, pushing him back. Taldaan sends Slegg to start the ship and tasks LE-47 with opening the rear ramp to expel the intruders. While Taldaan takes on Solay and Nubs, LE-47 opens the hatch. Following a tussle, the Jedi find themselves surrounded by the three Comet Runners. When Taldaan asks if he is ready for another lightsaber round, Brightstar nods to Solay and Nubs. He tells Nubs to head for the door and tells Solay to catch the coaxium box.
While Brightstar takes on Taldaan, Solays uses the Force to pull the box toward her. As the pirates converge on her, Solay throws the box to Brightstar. After Solay and Brightstar flee down the ramp, Nubs damages the door controls with his lightsaber, causing the door ramp to close. LE-47 touches the door panel but is electrocuted. Taldaan is upset but expresses a grudging admiration for the young Jedi. The Comet Runners retreat into space while the Jedi younglings celebrate their victory.
Homecoming
After returning the coaxium to Zepher, the younglings return to Tenoo. They find an exhausted Vinik and R0-M1. The younglings exit their starfighters. Solay tells him they ran into the Comet Runners, while Brightstar says he learned that he does not need to be like anyone else. Vinik agrees to teach Brightstar and his friends his spinning lightsaber technique but warns that they must add their style. The younglings begin another lesson.
“Raxlo to the Rescue”
A local hero
On the snowy world of Andraven, Jedi younglings Kai Brightstar, Nubs, and Lys Solay race wellagrins with their friends, Jam and Gumar Adraki. Brightstar thanks the locals for inviting them to the snow race, while Solay says she cannot wait to see what their friend Raxlo wants to show them. Gumar says they are almost there.
The younglings arrive at the base where Raxlo is working on his harvester. Solay compliments Raxlo’s new harvester. Raxlo explains that he has been using the harvester to mine the ice cave for tenga rocks, which he explains will provide power to the inhabitants of Andraven. He adds that people can sell them for a lot of credits. Gumar thanks Raxlo for using the revenue generated by selling the tenga rocks to improve their village, while the younger Jam describes the Gozzo businessman as their hero. Raxlo expresses appreciation for being a local hero.
The Ganguls attack
Just then, they are interrupted by the arrival of the Ganguls’ flagship Rathtar’s Revenge. A glider shuttle exits the Rathtar’s Revenge and lands nearby. Jam huddles beside Gumar for protection. The Jedi younglings led Jam and Gumar to safety while Raxlo faced the pirates. Sellaccc Orryak, Jooro Jarrot, and Toda-Joh exit the glider. Orryak picks up a tenga rock and tells Raxlo they know his mining work and harvester. Joh takes an interest in the tenga rock. Raxlo introduces himself and his harvester.
However, Orryak and her minions announce their intentions to take his harvester. The Jedi younglings confront the Ganguls and issue a warning. Orryak rebuffs their warning and sends Jarrot and Joh to deal with them. Joh and Jarrot charge at the younglings with their weapons while Gumar and Jam watch from behind a rock. While the younglings and Ganguls battle, Raxlo flees and jumps over a rock. Jarrot traps Nubs with an energy net. Gumar and Jam persuade Raxlo to help the younglings. Raxlo contacts RC-99 via comlink and tasks him and the security droids with dealing with the Ganguls.
RC-99 protests that he is not designed for combat, but Raxlo insists. RC-99 and three hovering security droids charge out of the cockpit but cannot stop Brightstar and Solay from being trapped under energy nets. RC-99 orders the security droids to surround Jarrot. However, Joh leaps on each security droid with his electric wrench and takes them out. RC-99 panics and flees, leaving Raxlo and the younglings to the tender mercies of the Ganguls. The Jedi younglings protest under their nets.
Into the cave
Raxlo also protests, but Jarrot traps him under an energy net. The Ganguls laugh with glee and depart with the harvester into a cave. Once the Ganguls leave, the energy nets disappear. Gumar asks what they should do. Raxlo vows to be a hero and pursues the Ganguls and the stolen harvester into the cave despite the concerns of the younglings. Solay says that Raxlo needs help. Brightstar agrees and tells RC-99, Gumar, and Jam to stay behind with the wellagrins. They promise to return.
Inside the cave, the harvester’s mining wheel extracts tenga rocks from the cave. Joh mans the controls while the other Ganguls watch. A lone Raxlo runs towards the harvester and demands that the Ganguls leave his harvester. Under Orryak’s orders, Toda-Joh attempts to crush Raxlo with the conveyer belt arm and mining wheel. Raxlo jumps out of the way and spots a release lever on top of the arm. He jumps on top of the thread of the arm, stunning both the Jedi younglings and the Ganguls. Despite Joh’s attempts to shake him off, Raxlo pulls the release lever, causing the wheel to fall off. Raxlo gets his foot stuck, but Solay pushes him out of the way before the mining wheel falls.
The mining wheel causes the ground to crack and the cave to collapse. The Ganguls flee in the stolen harvester while the Jedi younglings and Raxlo shelter around the mining wheel. The Jedi are safe, but Raxlo is covered in snow. Raxlo is devastated that the Ganguls have escaped with his harvester and tenga rocks. Raxlo thinks he is a failure but Nubs comforts him by encouraging him in Poobian. Translating, Brightstar says that Raxlo tried his best to help everyone, making him a hero.
Retaking the harvester
Solay says that he doesn’t have to be the sole hero. Raxlo asks if their comlinks are working and says they need some help. The Ganguls approach the entrance in their harvester. Under Raxlo’s instruction, Jam creates a snowball, which rolls down the hill and generates a snowball effect. The giant snowball crashes into the harvester, damaging its threads. The Ganguls attempt to free their harvester thread but are confronted by the Jedi younglings and Raxlo.
Orryak tasks the other pirates with fixing the harvester’s threads while she deals with the younglings. At Raxlo’s instruction, the Andraven children and RC-99 release the wellagrins on the Ganguls. RC-99 throws snowballs, which prompt the wellgrains to use their tails to release snowballs on the pirates. The Jedi joins in the snowball fight. Gumar knocks out Jarrot’s net launcher while the others overwhelm the Ganguls with snow. Raxlo deactivates the harvester, preventing the pirates from loading the tenga rocks onto their ships. Outnumbered, the Ganguls flee on their glider onto the Rathtar’s Revenge, which flies away.
Later, Raxlo repairs the harvester. The Andraven locals and Jedi younglings thank Raxlo for being a hero. Raxlo tries to be modest but accepts being a hero. The people then engage in a snowball fight.
