Story
Jedi Master Zia Zaldor Zanna and Kai Brightstar are speaking via hologram where she thanks him for volunteering to pick up the speeder part she needed from Marlaa’s junkyard. Brightstar says that he will see her soon before switching off the hologram. While searching for Marlaa Jinara in her junkyard, he encounters Taborr Val-Dorn, who is masked. Brightstar assumes that Val Dorn is here to steal but Val Dorn disagrees.
As Val-Dorn loads some parts onto a sled, he tells Brightstar to back away. Brightstar doesn’t believe him and reiterates his demand that he return the objects he has taken. Val-Dorn responds that he is not stealing and activates his electrostaff, warning Brightstar to back off. Brightstar disagrees and the two engage in a melee fight. Brightstar pushes Val Dorn up onto a ramp that leads to a starship hull and demands that he leave Jinara alone. Val Dorn denies that he is stealing and says he is not leaving with the parts he has come for.
Val Dorn splits his electrostaff into two smaller sticks and resumes the fight against Brightstar. Following a second round on top of a makeshift bridge, Val-Dorn knocks lightsaber out of his hand. While retreating, Brightstar slips and slides down the ramp, ending up in a barrel. Brightstar is surprised that Val-Dorn’s combat skills have grown. He retrieves his lightsaber and confronts Val Dorn again. This enrages Val Dorn who charges at Brightstar with his electrostaff. The two fight a third round and Brightstar succeeds in knocking both staffs out of Val-Dorn’s hand.
Marlaa Jinara and her droids JG-1 and PT-3 run out to investigate the commotion. When Jinara asks what is going on, Brightstar says that Val Dorn was stealing from her. Jinara reveals that she had made a deal with Val Dorn allowing him to salvage parts for his starship. Brightstar is surprised that Val Dorn was not here to steal but had bought the parts from Jinara. JG-1 passes an object to PT-3 who in turn passes it to Jinara. Jinara tells Val Dorn that this object is the part needed to fix his starship. As Val-Dorn leaves, he grumbles about Brightstar.
Brightstar expresses surprises that Val Dorn is capable of good. Jinara says that she was initially suspicious until Val Dorn offered to pay for the parts with credits. As the creaking Iron Talon departs the junkyard, Jinara explains that Val Dorn only wanted to fix his ship and admits that pirates can do the right thing sometimes. Brightstar expresses agreement with Jinara.
