Background: R8 was an R-series astromech droid who served the New Republic by 5 ABY, specifically Ambassador Nadura. R8 joined Nadura on a mission to Corvus, Nadura’s homeworld, where she hoped to accept them into the new government. R8 stayed with the ship while Nadura and her guards entered the city of Calodan. However, when the ruling magistrate, Morgan Elsbeth, refused and resorted to violence, Nadura fled, telling R8 to send a distress signal. Before R8 could get through to anyone, Elsbeth’s guards blew up the ship, destroying R8 in the explosion.
