“Music Mayhem”

Reunion with the Ku-Bops

The Jedi younglings Kai Brightstar, Lys Solay, and Nubs travel aboard Nash Durango’s starship Crimson Firehawk to the snowy planet of Andraven to meet up with Durango’s favorite band, the Ku-Bops. After landing, they are greeted by the Ku-Bops members Metz, Bruff, and K1-T (“Kit”). Kit demonstrates their new song, revealing they can both DJ and play drums. At this stage, they are met by an Andraven manager, who tells the Ku-Bops that they have been scheduled to play last after another band called the Star Strummers.

Shortly later, the Star Strummers arrive to practice on the stage. The band consists of a Herglic named Aelos and a male humanoid with orange dreadlocks and big ears named Anora. Their joyful, upbeat music awes the young Jedi. While the Ku-Bops are fans of the Star Strummers, they also feel daunted by the more seasoned band. While the Jedi younglings and Durango are optimistic, Kit feels downcast about being outclassed by Anora. Durango offers to help the Ku-Bops set up their musical instruments and gear.

The missing drummer

While the others walk away, a downcast Kit is left behind. Unknown to the group, they are being watched by the rogue droidsmith Rek Minuu and one of his spider droids. Seeking to add Kit to his collection, Minuu offers to give Kit upgrades to become a better drummer than the Star Strummers. Kit accepts his offer.

Later, Durango and the Jedi younglings help the Ku-Bops assemble their equipment, including a microphone, speaker, electric vioddle, rumble bass, and drums. Durango is pleased that the setup is proceeding, but RJ-83 points out that Kit is missing. Metz and Bruff are concerned about their missing teammate. Just then, Brightstar sees Minuu escorting Kit into a vehicle. The Jedi younglings pursue Rek while Durango and RJ-83 stay behind to help the band set up their equipment. Brightstar promises Metz and Bruff that the Jedi younglings will bring back their teammate.

The Jedi younglings borrow some speeder bikes and follow Rek’s trail to his starship. The Jedi younglings decide to sneak about Rek’s starship to rescue Kit. While navigating through the starship’s corridors, they hide while a repair droid passes by. Entering Minuu’s workshop, they encounter Kit, who has been fitted with several musical instruments. Kit tells the Jedi younglings that he voluntarily accepted the upgrades because he wanted to become a better musician. Solay tells Kit that Bruff, Metz, and her Jedi friends think that he is perfect the way he is.

Kit agrees, and the Jedi try to remove the upgrades, but Minuu has screwed them to Kit’s body. The younglings decide to take Kit to Solay and RJ-83 for help. While navigating through the ship’s corridors, they see Minuu approaching. While the younglings hide inside a dumbwaiter, they use the Force to levitate RJ-83 so that he doesn’t touch the ground and make a noise. When Minuu returns to the workshop with a kloo horn, he discovers that Kit is missing. The Jedi younglings and Kit escape Rek’s starship in their speeder bikes. Seeing the Jedi leaving, Minuu and his security droids give chase in their speeder.

Showdown with Rek

At this stage, the Andraven manager convinces a reluctant Metz and Bruff to play a song since the crowd is getting impatient. Before the Jedi younglings and Kit can reach the stadium, they are intercepted by Rek, who wants his new droid back. Solay counters that Kit belongs with his band. Meanwhile, Metz and Bruff decide to improvise by playing a song dedicated to Kit. The two also play their electric vioddles. When Kit expresses second thoughts about his deal with Rek, the incensed droidsmith orders his droids to seize him by force. While Nubs guides Kit onto the stage, Solay and Brightstar hold off Minuu’s spider droids with their training lightsabers.

The tall blue security droid attempts to block Nubs, but the youngling draws his lightsaber. Hearing the commotion, Durango and RJ-83 rush outside to help. Brightstar and Solay use their Force powers to hurl the spider droids aside. Nubs attempts to fend off the blue security droid with his lightsaber, but the droid grabs Kit. Durango intervenes, hurling RJ-83 at the blue security droid. RJ-83 disables the security droid’s rear button. Confronted by the Jedi younglings and Durango, Minuu concedes defeat and allows Kit to rejoin his friends. Durango offers to help repair Kit.

The drum solo and encore

Shortly after, Metz and Bruff find themselves unable to proceed with their song because the next act features a drum solo. Metz is about to apologize, but a rejuvenated Kit resurfaces, much to the delight of his bandmates. Together, the trio complete their song while the younglings and the Andraven fans cheer. Following their performance, the two hug Kit.

After the concert, Solay explains that Kit went with Rek so he could get upgrades. Bruff apologizes to Kit for suggesting he was not perfect, while Metz reassures Kit that he is perfect the way he is. Brightstar brings the Star Strummers who have come to say hi. Aelos and Anora praise the Ku-Bops for their drum solo performance. The Andraven manager invites the Ku-Bops to give an encore performance. The Ku-Bops decide to play another song and invite the Star Strummers to join them.

“The Night Lights of Tenoo”

A camping trip

The episode opens with a furry rodent jumping out of the way as Padawan Celesta Kami and the Jedi younglings Kai Brightstar, Nubs and Lys Solay ride past on their dunnel steeds along a path through the Tenoo tree forest. The younglings are excited that their friend Kami is taking them to see the Night Lights of Tenoo, with Solay saying that it occurs one a year. Brightstar and Nubs look forward to camping in the wild.

Leading the way, Kami uses her holocam to record their adventure. Solay expresses concern that Kami is too preoccupied with her holocam and is not taking the time to enjoy the natural scenery. Kami explains that she wants to record everything for further study. Solay points the way to the Blue Forest. Regarding the Blue Forest as the best place to see the Night Lights, Kami decides that the four should set up camp there. The boys go first but Kami is preoccupied with taking holopics. While the others set up camp, Kami is too busy photographing the flora and fauna.

The mischievous meekas

She encounters a Blue Meeka who snatches her holocam. Other blue meekas arrive in the camp and begin raiding the camp for shiny objects. The Jedi manage to drive the blue meekas away by district them with shiny rocks. They then begin relocating their camp. However, the blue meekas follow the Jedi to their new site. The Jedi relocate a third time but the blue meekas have followed them and take an interest in shiny objects. Kami and the younglings decide to move a fourth time to a more distant spot.

After setting up their fourth camp, Kami resumes taking pictures with a holocam. Solay suggests that Kami take time to experience their natural surroundings. Kami expresses disagreement but a blue meeka snatches her holocam and scurries away. More meekas arrive and help their comrade escape with the holocam. Kami is upset about losing her holocam. When Solay says that Night Lights will be approaching soon, Kami says that she needs her holocam to record them. She convinces the younglings to help her retrieve her holocam.

The deep pit

As dusk approaches, Kami expresses frustration about losing her holocam. Solay and her friends attempt to convince Kami to return to their camp but the blue meeka who stole her holocam leads the four towards a large branch ledged over a deep pit. The Jedi younglings survive since they land on several bushes. Kami also retrieves her holocam. However, Brightstar and Solay point out that the walls of the pit are too steep to climb. As the Night Lights pierce through the forest canopy, Kami laments that they won’t be able to see them now and blames herself for getting them into a mess.

Kami says that she was so focused on her holocam that she forgot about everything else. Solay says she understands Kami’s desire to record everything but that she knows that seeing the Night Lights means more to her than just recording them. After breathing deeply, Kami says that she realizes that seeing the Night Lights is more important than recording them. She also realizes that being with Solay is also important.

Living the moment

After seeing the female blue meeka who stole her holocam balancing on a branch, Kami playfully tosses the device to the creature, who throws it back. Having an idea, she tosses the head of a grappling cable towards the meeka who ties it around a branch. The four use the rope to abseil their way out of the pit. Solay thanks the blue meeka for their help. Since the Night Lights would be gone by the time they have returned to camp, Kami convinces the younglings that they can climb onto a tree to view the Night Lights.

While climbing up the tree, Kami drops her holocam. However, she realizes that seeing the Night Lights is more important than recording them. Together, the four climb onto the top of the tree’s canopy where the watch the Night Lights streaming through the skies of Tenoo. Later at camp, Kami thanks Solay for helping her learn the importance of living in the moment. The female blue meeka arrives with her lost holocam. Kami barters for its return by offering a jewel. While the boys sleep with the blue meekas, Kami and Solay spend time together photographing the last of the Night Lights and posing for selfies.
