Background: The Vigilance was a Venator-class Star Destroyer in the Republic Navy and a part of the Open Circle Fleet during the final year of the Clone Wars. The Vigilance had 8 DBY-827 heavy turbolaser turrets, command towers, and an equipped hyperdrive.
The Vigilance served as Jedi General Obi-Wan Kenobi’s flagship during the final days of the Clone Wars. When tasked with pursuing the CIS ringleader, General Grievous on Utapau, Kenobi transferred to the Vigilance over Coruscant. His clone commander briefed him on the situation, and he was dispatched to Utapau in his interceptor.
The Vigilance later arrived at Utapau to provide backup for Kenobi as he battled Grievous amid the sinkhole cities of Utapau. When Order 66 was initiated, the Vigilance was instructed to scramble fighters to pursue and kill Kenobi. However, Kenobi, who had escaped in Grievous’s fighter, was too fast, and the fighters could not catch up.
