Background: Udea was a new signatory to the Galactic Republic during the High Republic Era, only having been incorporated in 212 BBY (788 GC). It is not part of the formal sector in the Outer Rim Territories, an expanse still largely independent of Republic representation at the time. Ueda was the site of lucrative logging and milling operations, as the northern archipelagos are a source of the durable and valuable Ueda conifer. In the past, marauders would strike the planet for its valuable resources and processed materials.
Several currencies can be spent freely on in Point Ueda, including the Republic credit standard (datary). Older coinage is common as opposed to the more modern gleaming ingots produced by minting worlds. The Bosphian sestertius was one currency still in use during the High Republic on Ueda.
Ueda was a planet home to a village that contained the Lomi Usqi Noodle Shop. A diverse range of sentient species inhabited it. In 132 BBY, the Jedi Master Indara was stationed in a village in Ueda. The Force-sensitive assassin Mae Aniseya tracked her to a bar and confronted her, attacking several bystanders until Indara intervened to stop her. Mae killed Indara in the ensuing fight.
