Background: TM-171 was a masculine-programmed T-series military strategic analysis and tactics droid who served in the naval forces of the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the Clone Wars. In 20 BBY, the droid officer was dispatched to the planet Umbara during a campaign against the Galactic Republic, where he commanded strategic resupply operations for the Umbaran Militia on the surface from a DH-Omni Support Vessel in orbit.
During one of TM-171’s munitions delivery operations, a group of three Republic clone troopers infiltrated his supply ship to prevent the shipment’s arrival. Despite the droid’s presence, the clones destroyed the ship’s reactor, resulting in the destruction of the transport and its commander along with it.
