From StarWars.com: The first teaser trailer for Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu is here!
The evil Empire has fallen, and Imperial warlords remain scattered throughout the galaxy. As the fledgling New Republic works to protect everything the Rebellion fought for, they have enlisted the help of legendary Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) and his young apprentice Grogu (as himself).
This clan of two is ready for the fight! A brand-new Razor Crest has landed in our first look at the highly anticipated next chapter in the Mandalorian’s story, alongside glimpses of Din Djarin and Grogu on their next adventure!
Thought to have been released last Friday, before Disney got itself into a PR nightmare, this morning, the teaser trailer was released. I’ll try to break down everything that I noticed.

The trailer opens with Din’s new ST-70 assault ship, better known as The Razor Crest, flying along the Adelphi coastline and approaching Adelphi Station, where Captain Carson Teva (Paul Sun-Hyung Lee) and a group of New Republic Rangers, with whom Din allied in the climax of season three, to let the Mandalorian become an unofficial independent contractor for the New Republic.

We catch Din and Grogu on a mission with a super cute shot of Grogu with a scope looking at an Imperial outpost with Stormtroopers. The film is set in approximately 9-10 ABY, so we’re still only about a few years after the formal end of the Galactic Civil War at the Battle of Jakku in 5 ABY. With Moff Gideon dead after Season 3 of the series, we don’t yet know who the main bad guy will be, but there are still plenty of other Imperial Warlords out there to deal with.

We next see Grogu down in a sewer system following an Anzellan. Grogu met a crew of Anzellan engineers on Navarro, so it is likely this group that is with him.

On Adelphi, Din and Grogu met with a New Republic liaison, played by the legendary actress Sigourney Weaver. She is a New Republic general based on her rank, but the character’s name has not been released. She is not taken with Grogu’s cuteness or use of the Force as he pulls back some table snacks from the hungry child.

We are then treated to some action scenes with Din kicking someone against a wall.

A fierce-looking Amanaman emerges from the water, seemingly setting up an ambush.

Mando and Grogu are chased by what look like TIE Interceptors.

Grogu struggles to swim in some rough water.

Garazeb Orrelios, commonly known as Zeb, is wrecking some Stormtroopers with his bo-rifle, a common occurrence during his days in the Rebellion.

Grrogu and the Anzellan engineers are traveling in a small speeder.

Mando flies up to an awaiting U-Wing.

Rotta the Hutt appears in the center of an arena, likely on the Hutt World of Nar Shaddaa known as the “Smugglers Moon,” though it could be Ord Mantell.

Grogu chomps on some Mantell Mix in the arena.

Mando faces off against some Battle Droids guarding a droid. Note that he has reacquired an Amban Sniper Rifle, but it is not effective against droids.

We see a Mantellian Savrip, which was first seen as a hologram piece for Dejarik in A New Hope. Din appears to be battling it in the arena.

Finally, we see Din attacking some AT-AT/P Prototype, blowing it up from the inside, causing it to fall off a cliff.

The trailer ends with Grogu in the sewer again, encountering a one-eyed creature and shooting it with a paintball.
Overall it is a quality trailer that shows off some action but doesn’t reveal anything about the story that will be told. The Mandalorian and Grogu is scheduled to release in May 2026.
