Background: The petar was a melee weapon created by the Kyuzo. A double-bladed dagger-like weapon created by the Kyuzo species, the petar had a bronzium knuckle-guard, and featured a conductive tempered carbon edge; with a flick of a button, this edge became energized with a scintillating monomolecular energy cord, vastly increasing the cutting power and deadliness of the weapon. Powering this deadly edge were rechargeable energy cells sealed within the hilt of the weapon.
Dryden Vos owned a pair of custom made petars, carefully designed to account for his fingers and claws, and perfectly weighted to fit his reach and fighting style.
