Background: Lezine was a male human resident of Ghorman, a planet along the Rimma Trade Route. By 3 BBY, he had become an outspoken critic of the Galactic Empire’s occupation and oppression of the Ghorman people. During that year, he attended a town hall in the capital city, Palmo, where he spoke directly to four Ghorman electors. At the meeting, he gave a passionate speech about the oppression of the Empire before being interrupted by Enza Rylanz, one of the electors, who told him to settle down and give someone else a chance to speak. Before leaving the podium, Lezine told the group that the Empire would make a prison out of Palmo before rudely slapping his hand onto his forearm. Later during the meeting, Lezine interrupted a woman who was complaining that the building that the Empire was constructing near Palmo Plaza was, in fact, an Imperial armory. Despite being told that he already had his turn to speak by an elector, Lezine continued to state that the building was a fortress and that the electors knew it.
Later in 3 BBY, Lezine was walking in Palmo at night when he came across the Ghorman Front stealing crates of weapons from an Imperial transport carrier. Samm, a member of the Front, tried to tell Lezine to walk away, but Lezine shoved him aside and continued to walk. Samm pulled out a blaster pistol and pointed it at Lezine, once again telling him to go home. Lezine turned around and walked toward Samm, warning him that his blaster better be a toy—otherwise, he would shove it down his throat. Lezine eventually approached close enough to grab the gun and hold it away from him; however, Samm still fired, going past Lezine and killing Cinta Kaz, a member of the Axis network who was assisting the Ghorman Front in the theft. The two stopped struggling and walked over to Kaz as Vel Sartha, Kaz’s lover, rushed over to her. After the pair exchanged brief final words, Lezine offered to carry her body back with the group. After placing Kaz’s body in the awaiting escape transport, Lezine left the scene.
Lezine eventually joined the Ghorman Front by the following year. He was present at the Ghorman Front Headquarters in 2 BBY when a heated disagreement occurred between group members. With Carro Rylanz, the original leader of the Front arguing for more peaceful resistance and the other members arguing for more aggressive resistance, Lezine interrupted and appealed to unity reminding them that they were are Ghor regardless of how they resisted the Empire and that they couldn’t let the Empire take that from them through in-fighting.
Later that year, the Empire began landing mining rigs around the planet as part of its plan to extract Kalkite from the planet’s sub-strait. The following morning in Palmo, the Empire removed the barriers restricting access to Palmo Plaza, effectively inviting the Ghorman people to protest. Lezine joined the protesters as they made their way to the plaza. As those around him chanted “We are the Ghor!” and “The galaxy is watching!” Lezine stayed quiet as he marched with the protesters. When he arrived at the plaza, he hugged Dilan, a fellow Front member, before walking through the crowd to stand near the Monument to the Fallen at the plaza’s center. Shortly before Sergeant Bloy’s squad began advancing toward the Monument, Lezine removed his hat and loudly sang the Ghorman National Anthem. Quickly joined by Dilan and Enza, the crowd sang the anthem alongside him.
As Bloy’s team continued to make it through the crowd, tensions rose before an Imperial sniper was ordered to shoot a member of the Imperial squad in order to start a massacre of the Ghorman people. After the Imperials began firing into the crowd, members of the Ghorman Front returned fire. Lezine, Dilan, and Enza ran to the plaza’s edge, taking cover behind several pillars. From cover, Lezine began firing at the Imperials with a blaster rifle provided to him by Dilan. He continued to fire from cover as Dilan threw a flame jar at a group of troopers. Lezine later helped a wounded man get to cover while Dilan provided covering fire before Dilan was shot in the gut. Lezine returned to Dilan and helped him out of the fighting before Dilan eventually collapsed and died due to his injury. Lezine stayed by Dilan, mourning his friend.
