Background: CZ-D2-9000 was part of the designation of a CZ-series secretary/business communications droid manufactured by Serv-O-Droid, Inc. During the era of the New Republic, the droid was left deactivated on a table among an inventory of broken-down old droids models in a droid repair shop on the pirate-controlled asteroid Port Borgo.
While searching for the pirate droid SM-33 in the shop, the fugitive pirate Jod Na Nawood activated CZ-D2-9000 to learn its name. The droid sat upright and greeted Nawood, but as soon as it stated its name and revealed itself not to be SM-33, the pirate deactivated the CZ-series unit and fell back to the table. CZ-D2-9000 had white plating and black sensors.
