What’s happening Star Wars fans, it’s been a minute. We have been very busy reworking a lot of things behind the scenes with writing the code for our new site design (hope you like it) and getting our gaming section started up. We have lots to talk about both Star Wars news and what we are doing starting in 2025.

Andor News

Andor Season 2 Trailer

So no doubt everyone is ready for the second and final season of Andor, I know I am and we can’t wait to start working through the season with you episode by episode. It feels like Star Wars is at a low point again but Andor will likely give it a boost. Those of you who didn’t give into the haters, we stand together! Anyhow here is what we know about season 2 of Andor.

First, the Andor Season 2 trailer is expected in the coming days. This matches the release schedule for Disney+ with that of the previous Star Wars series. We will post the trailer on BlueskyMastodonDiscord, and Facebook page once it is released. (please like and subscribe)

Andor Release Date

“Andor” season 2 is scheduled to arrive on Disney+ on April 22, 2025. Originally, it was slated for late 2024, but it slipped further into the future due to production delays caused by the 2023 WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. While production on the 12-episode second season began in November 2022 and partially continued after the WGA strike began, it was halted in July 2023 when the actors joined the writers on strike for fair and equitable treatment from the studios.

Andor Season 2 Cast

Diego Luna will once again lead the cast, and major characters, including Stellan Skarsgård’s Luthen Rael, are certain to return. There is no word on whether Forest Whitaker will appear as Saw Gerrera or if Andy Serkis will return as fan-favorite Kino Loy (we believe both will).

Currently, this is the cast we expect to see in Andor Season 2: Diego Luna as Cassian Andor, Stellan Skarsgård as Luthen Rael, Genevieve O’Reilly as Mon Mothma, Kyle Soller as Syril Karn, Denise Gough as Dedra Meero, Adria Arjona as Bix Caleen, Faye Marsay as Vel Sartha, Varada Sethu as Cinta Kaz, Elizabeth Dulau as Kleya Marki, Alan Tudyk as K-2SO, and Ben Mendelsohn as Orson Krennic.

It has been hinted that Andor Season 2 is packed full of special items for Star Wars fans, will be a must-watch series, and will end with Andor headed into the events of Rogue One.

What is Andor Season 2 about?

Showrunner Tony Gilroy mentioned that the second season will cover four years in Andor’s life, leading to “Rogue One,” with major time jumps every few episodes. “When we come back later, it’ll be literally like a Friday, Saturday and Sunday. And then, we’ll jump a year, and then it’ll be, like, four or five days, and then we’ll jump a year, and then there’ll be another four or five days, and then we jump a year, and be another four or five days,” he told Deadline.

Without providing any details, Stellan Skarsgård stated that he believes fans will be satisfied with where the season goes: “It ends where ‘Rogue One’ starts so it’s up to that point. I think it will be very good as already the first one was satisfying for me because it’s sort of Star Wars for grown-ups – it’s a more realistic and complicated society that they’re living in and the claustrophobia of the fascist regime is palpable. I think we have a good season ahead of us.”

Star Wars Celebration Japan Unveils Final Wave of Badge Art

We are two more months out from Star Wars Celebration, and Lucasfilm is ramping up its previews of what fans attending the event may encounter. This past Thursday, they revealed the third and final wave of the artwork that will be featured on the different badges. These seven new drawings join the beautiful roster that had already been revealed a few months ago leaving us with fifteen in total. The artwork was created by Japanese artist TAKUMI, who reimagines Star Wars characters in the traditional ukiyo-e style. Check them out below:

Skeleton Crew Knocks It Out Of The Park

Did you catch Skeleton Crew yet? Seriously, stop everything and watch; it’s great. It’s no secret that Star Wars has been in a bit of a tough spot lately. Progress on the Rey movie seems convoluted, with the Daisy Ridley-starring project recently losing another writer. And then there’s the newly announced trilogy, which, while very exciting, I can’t help feeling is another set of films that just won’t get made – much like I doubt we’ll ever see Taika Waititi’s, Shawn Levy’s, or Patty Jenkins’s movies.

In contrast, Skeleton Crew has felt incredibly refreshing. Its progress to the screen was quiet and uncomplicated. As a bonus, you don’t need to have seen anything about Star Wars before you get into it. Skeleton Crew is a fun, adventure-filled story set during the New Republic Era.

Skeleton Crew is streaming on Disney Plus now, go watch!

Current Star Wars D6 RPG Projects

The Acolyte Source Book

We currently have several projects going on at SWRPGGM.com. First, we are getting close to finishing our PDF Source Book for The Acolyte. This draws from The Acolyte Source Guide and puts it in the traditional format players enjoy collecting. It should be released by June, but our target date is May 4, 2025.

It will include all the characters, starships, vehicles, weapons and equipment, locations, and force powers seen in the series. It will be a must have for those looking to have adventures during the High Republic Era.

Star Wars Episode III Revenge of the Sith / SOLO Source Guide

We have stepped up our posts for Episode III and SOLO source guides. We have no release timeline as of yet for either source guide, but we would like both to be completed in 2025. Currently, it’s looking like October – December. You will see increased posts for both films until Young Jedi Adventures and Andor startup.

We are working our way through the long list of characters from the two films. You can expect to see daily posts up until the release of Andor Season 2 in April.

Young Jedi Adventures Source Guide

We have completed the first half of season 2 of Young Jedi Adventures for the roleplaying game. The second half of the season begins on March 19, 2025, with an episode called Unmasked; the second episode will be released on March 20, and the third on March 21. Episode four releases March 28, 2025. We will continue to work on the series as the new episodes come out, with our episode posts released on Sundays.

The series is set during the High Republic Era, and although designed for young children, it addresses how Jedi are trained as children. If you ever wanted to learn how it is done for the RPG, this is a surprising must-watch series.

Star Wars Rebels 10th Anniversary

We are two episodes from the completion of Season 1 of Star Wars Rebels for the Star Wars Roleplaying Game. The next two releases are on February 23, and the season finale is on March 2. This is exactly ten years after the initial release of the episodes. Ollie has done a great job updating all the stats for the series; he released two PDF books on Rebels in the past that are quite out of date these days. The characters have had their skills and abilities fleshed out in additional media since first released and he has provided great insight on the new editions.

You won’t have to wait long for Season 2 of Rebels to start as that drops June 20, 2025 with The Siege of Lothal Part 1 & 2. The rest of the season continues October 14, 2025-March 30, 2026. Look for related Rebels releases starting again in March on Saturdays and Sundays mixed with YJA posts.
