Background: An Ashla Staff was a type of staff, often created from wooden branches gifted by Tholothian dignitaries, used by the Revered Masters of Lasat culture. These staffs held a spiritual purpose in Lasat culture, and had a special connection to the Force. A survivor of the Siege of Lasan named Chava carried one such staff on her journeys to return to Lira San.
During the Siege of Lasan, these staffs were plundered by the Galactic Empire—and some of those who survived sold the staffs.
