Background: Drellik was a Tarsunt who served as Supreme Chancellor of the Galactic Republic during the High Republic Era. In 132 BBY, Senator Rayencourt of the Galactic Senate learned that the Jedi Order was investigating a murder internally without informing the Republic, playing into his wishes for it to be externally reviewed. He reported the Order’s lack of transparency to Drellik before confronting Jedi Master Vernestra Rwoh, who was leading the investigation, and informing her that the chancellor may summon her to a tribunal for an update on the investigation.

After the investigation, Rwoh was summoned to report to a Senate tribunal led by Drellik on the Republic capital, Coruscant. The Jedi reported that Jedi Master Sol had gone rogue and killed three other Jedi to cover up the four’s involvement in the destruction of a Force cult on the planet Brendok sixteen years earlier. However, this was a lie, as the three other Jedi had been killed by the assassin Mae-ho Aniseya and her Sith Master, the individual known as the Stranger. Upon hearing the report, Rayencourt pushed for an external review of the Jedi to begin immediately, claiming there was no time for a full Senate vote. Still, Drellik questioned Rwoh further and asked what had become of Sol. Rwoh then reported that they had found Sol dead on Brendok and claimed that he had ended his own life, although, in truth, Sol’s former Padawan Verosha Aniseya had murdered him.
