Special Abilities:
Resistant to Force Use: Mandalorians and Mandalorian Foundlings are trained in the ways of the Force in order to resist some of the effects of the Force, and their minds cannot be read using the Force, or modified using the Force. However, precognition abilities such as Light Saber Combat work perfectly well.
Inability to use the Force: The Mandalorians have a genetic defect inherited from their ancestors and compounded by the small gene pool that they have grown from. They cannot manipulate the force.
Genetically Superior: Due to the harsh circumstances the Mandalorian people grew from, they are much hardier people than most species in the galaxy. While the Mandalorians like to see this as Genetic Superiority, it is perhaps more linked to their inability to manipulate the Force, so they have had to rely on themselves more. This “superiority” gives them a bonus 6 Attribute Dice when starting play; this is already incorporated in the attribute dice figure above.

Background: Bo-Katan Kryze was born into House Kryze and became Mand’alor during the New Republic Era. Throughout her life, she held various positions within the Death Watch terrorist group, including commanding officer of the Nite Owls subdivision. She also led the Mandalore resistance and claimed authority over her homeworld. Bo-Katan’s history is intertwined with that of her sister, Satine, who was the pacifistic Duchess of Mandalore. This caused conflict between the siblings, as Bo-Katan believed Mandalore should embrace its warrior past and joined Death Watch. When Governor Pre Vizsla of Concordia was exposed as the leader of Death Watch, the group was exiled from Mandalore. Later, Kryze and Vizsla teamed up with Sith Lords Maul and Savage Opress to reclaim Mandalore. They formed the Shadow Collective, which united several criminal syndicates and overthrew Satine’s rule. Vizsla then took control of the planet.

After defeating Pre Vizsla, Maul took the throne and made Prime Minister Almec his puppet leader, marking the start of the Post Vizsla era. However, some Mandalorian loyalists, including Kryze, did not accept Maul’s rule. They freed Satine from prison and sought help from Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi. Since Mandalore was neutral, Kenobi had to come alone, but Maul captured him. Maul killed Satine in front of him. Kryze and her rebels eventually freed Kenobi, and Mandalore was thrown into a civil war. Kryze requested that the Galactic Republic be informed of the events, hoping a Republic invasion would lead to Maul’s death. The Republic laid siege to Mandalore less than a year later, driving Maul away. Kryze became Lady of House Kryze and Regent of Mandalore. However, she lost her position when she refused to follow the newly appointed Galactic Emperor Palpatine, and Clan Saxon took over.

After Mandalore was occupied, the Republic became the Galactic Empire, and violence erupted on the planet. Clan Wren of Krownest, located in 2 BBY, resisted the Empire, leading to a civil war with the Imperial loyalists of Clan Saxon. During this time, Kryze met Countess Ursa Wren and Sabine Wren of Clan Wren, who were searching for a Mandalorian worthy of wielding the Darksaber and becoming Mand’alor. With their approval, Kryze took the weapon and united several Mandalorian clans to fight against the Empire. However, not all Mandalorians supported her, as she had received the Darksaber as a gift instead of earning it in combat. Her reign was short-lived when the Empire destroyed Mandalore and its people during the Night of a Thousand Tears, and Moff Gideon took the Darksaber from Kryze. In the aftermath of the “Great Purge,” Kryze developed a plan to reclaim the weapon and restore Mandalore.

On Trask, Kryze teamed up with fellow Mandalorians Axe Woves and Koska Reeves to hijack a shipment of weapons from an Imperial Gozanti-class cruiser. Before their mission, Kryze, Woves, and Reeves rescued Din Djarin, a Children of the Watch member, and the Force-sensitive youngling Grogu from a fishing boat. With Djarin’s help, they successfully stole the weapons and captured the Gozanti cruiser to reclaim Mandalore. Later, Djarin recruited Kryze and Reeves to help him rescue Grogu, who had been captured by Moff Gideon and held aboard his light cruiser. With the help of Reeves, assassin Fennec Shand, Marshal Carasynthia Dune, and former bounty hunter Boba Fett, Kryze successfully captured the light cruiser’s bridge. However, Djarin returned with a rescued Grogu and Gideon in stuncuffs and claimed the Darksaber by defeating Gideon, making him the rightful ruler of Mandalore. Despite Djarin willingly relinquishing the Darksaber, Kryze refused to take it due to her past fears.

Kryze managed to reunite the scattered Mandalorians and reclaim their homeland by saving Djarin from an unidentified cyborg in the ruins of Mandalore. She successfully brought back some survivors and rekindled the Great Forge, marking the beginning of Mandalore’s reconstruction. Despite facing an Imperial remnant stationed on the planet, Kryze and her allies emerged victorious.
