Background: Nax was a clone of Jango Fett and was born on Kamino around 29 BBY. He fought in the Clone Wars against the Confederacy of Independent Systems as a clone trooper in the elite 501st Legion of the Grand Army of the Republic. He adopted the name “Nax” and fought valiantly in various battles, including Teth, Christophsis, and Umbara. However, due to severe injuries sustained during battle, he was stripped of his active duty status. When the Galactic Empire emerged in 19 BBY, it began Project War-Mantle, which aimed to replace clone troopers with volunteers and conscripts. Despite his bravery and experience, Nax was deemed ineligible for military service due to his rapidly aging body and left without any support whatsoever.

Nax, a veteran, was stranded and homeless on the planet Daiyu. His difficult experiences and years of age acceleration had left him with no other choice but to beg for credits in order to survive. After he mustered up the courage to ask Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi for help, Kenobi threw some credits into Nax’s helmet while keeping his lightsaber hidden. Nax expressed his gratitude with a nod, and Kenobi walked away after briefly staring at him solemnly.
